The Wyoming Cowboys stable of quarterbacks is thin at the moment as back-up Jason Thompson has requested to be released from his scholarship. Reportedly, Thompson intends to transfer to Utah, to rejoin Dave Christensen, who was fired as U-W's head coach and then hired as Utah's offensive coordinator. Thompson red shirted in 2013 and played in 6 games in 2012 as a freshman, starting one. He is the 2nd quarterback to leave the Cowboy program as they hired Craig Bohl as their Head Coach.
