Another huge win for the Wyoming Cowboys as they beat Illinois State on the road 81-67 Tuesday night. The Pokes (9-0) trailed by as much as 19 points in the first half before outscoring the Red Birds 52-24 in the 2nd half. Wyoming Shot 54 percent from the field and essentially played just 5 players and all got into double figures. Larry Nance Jr. had a career high 19 points, followed by Luke Martinez with 17 points and a school record 9 steals.  Josh Adams and Leonard Washington had 15 and Derrious Curry with 13 points. UW also made an astounding 22 of 24 free throws. The Cowboys were also helped out by the Red Birds who had 20 turnovers and made just 6 of 14 free throws. The Cowboys return home on Saturday when the meet Oklahoma Panhandle State at the AA.

In Junior College basketball, the Casper College men and women are on the road tonight in Rock Springs when they match up with Western Wyoming. The T-Bird men are 9-3 after splitting their two games in Sterling, Colorado last weekend. The Lady T-Birds are 9-2 after winning all 3 of their games at the Air Force Prep Tournament last week. The women's game tips off at 5:30pm followed by the men at 7:30, with both games on AM 1400 ESPN with Marcus Hayden and Chris Crossen.

The Wyoming Cowboys had 2 players make first team in this year's Mountain West All-Conference Football Team. Offensive lineman Nick Carlson and defensive lineman Mike Purcell. Fresno State quarterback Derek Carr was named the Offensive Player of the Year. Fresno State defensive back Philip Thomas was the Defensive Player of the Year. Rocky Long of San Diego State was named Coach of the Year.
