Ending what can only be described as a nail-biter, Francisco Cruz dropped one at the buzzer, giving Wyoming the 67-66 win over New Mexico on Saturday.

Dairese Gary's two foul shots had given New Mexico (12-4, 0-1 Mountain West) a 66-65 lead with 23 seconds remaining. Cruz then launched a 3-point try that missed, but Daylen Harrison, who scored a career-high 17 points, rebounded for the Cowboys. His errant corner shot caromed to Cruz, setting up the game-winner.
Adam Waddell, bothered by tendinitis all year, scored a season-high 16 points for Wyoming (8-8, 1-1), while Desmar Jackson added 15.
Gary led the Lobos with a season-best 24 points.
New Mexico's Alex Kirk sank a 3 to tie it at 64 with 57 seconds left. Jackson then outwrestled two Lobos for a rebound after his own miss and was fouled, sinking one of two free throws for a 65-64 lead.
