Natalie Baker scored 18 points to help the Wyoming Cowgirls snap a seven-game losing skid to Colorado State with a 56-49 victory over the Rams Tuesday night in Laramie.

Wyoming (20-8, 12-5) led from start to finish and the game was only tied once. Bailee Cotton added 10 points and nine rebounds, while Clara Tapia had 10 points and four assists. UW sent their lone senior player, Hailey Ligocki, out with a victory in her final home game.

Baker went 5-6 at the foul line and hit a big lay-up in the final three minutes after CSU had cut the lead to single digits. It got as close as six in the final minute, but the Cowgirls held on with free throws.

Wyoming shot 41 percent from the field and held the Rams to 36.4 percent. UW also had a 39-26 edge in rebounding. The Cowgirls also overcame 17 turnovers.

Colorado State (22-7, 14-3) was led by Elin Gustavsson with 14 points. The Rams struggled from the start, as they shot only 2-13, 15 percent, from the floor in the first quarter.

Ligocki scored the first points of the game just over three minutes in on a jumper. CSU tied it two possessions later, but a Baker three-pointer put UW ahead 5-2. They led 12-4 after the first. Wyoming pushed their advantage to 20, at 24-4, on a Cotton lay-up midway through the second quarter. It was 30-16 Cowgirls at halftime. UW kept the lead in double figures through the third quarter, but the Rams cut it to 41-30 at the end of the period.

The Cowgirls will conclude the regular season at San Jose State Friday night. Game time is at 8 p.m.
