After winning 9 straight home games to start the season, the Casper Cutthroats have now dropped two straight games. Fort Collins out slugged the Cutthroats 21-19 on Tuesday night at Mike Lansing Field.

The Cutthroats had an 8 run lead thaks to a 2nd inning grand slam  from Nick Fisher but Fort Collins had a pair of 8 run innings to jump in front and hold on from there. The game featured 40 hits and 8 errors. Casper is now 10-9 and will wrap up that series with Fort Collins this afternoon.

The Casper Oilers American Legion team lost to Laramie on the road Tuesday 12-11. Laramie scored 3 runs in the bottom of the 9th inning for the win. Casper falls to 23-22 and will host the annual Georgo Tani Baseball Tournament starting on Thursday.

In Major League baseball, the Colorado Rockies lost to Washington Tuesday night 12-5 at Coors Field. Adam Larouche had 2 home runs and Michael Morse with 4 RBI's as the Nationals pounded out 11 extra base hits. Former Casper players Dexter Fowler and Jonathan Herrera homered for the Rockies who have now lost 15 of their last 19 games. The Rockies also reassigned pitching coach Bob Apodaca at Apodaca's request. The Rockies pitching staff has struggled this year and bullpen coach Jim Wright along with AAA pitching coaching Bo McLaughlin will be co-coaches for the rest of the season.

The U.S. Olympic swimming trials continue in Omaha, Nebraska. University of Wyoming athlete Kelci Conti did make it to the semi-finals of the 100 breaststroke, but did not make the finals after finishing 11th with a time of 1:01.16, missing the finals by a half a second.
