The Casper Cutthroats collegiate team will be in action tonight in Fort Collins in the opening game of the Mountain Collegiate League Playoffs. The Cutthroats won the regular season league but had a hard time beating Fort Collins

Casper lost 4 home games this season, all to Fort Collins. Casper's last outing was a 5-4 win at Cheyenne earlier in the week. But the team will be playing without one of their best players in Colt McLaughlin who broke his collar bone in the Cheyenne game crashing into a wall chasing  a fly ball. McLaughlin was batting over .300 and tied a league record for home runs with 9. Game time tonight is 6:15pm with first pitch in Casper Saturday evening at 6:05pm at Mike Lansing Field. If the two teams need a third game, it will also be played in Casper Sunday afternoon at 4:05pm.

In American Legion baseball, the Casper Oilers will be at home tonight when they host Cheyenne Post 6 with first pitch at 6pm. The Oilers (34-32) lost to Cheyenne 5-0 earlier in the week. Casper will host the State American Legion Baseball Tournament starting next Wednesday at Mike Lansing Field.

The 116th Annual Cheyenne Frontier Days Rodeo resumes this afternoon. Today marks the start of the 4th group of competitors who will be up today and tomorrow with the big money finals coming up on Sunday. Yesterday in the bull riding, Cody Whitney of Laramie with a 90 point bullride and coupled with his 88 in the first go round, he is currently leading the average. In the bareback, JR Vezain of Cowley with a 78. Vezain is currently in the top 7 right now with a 166 on 2.

Auto racing at the Casper Speedway tonight at 7pm. The feature tonight will be the late moddels.
