The Casper Cutthroats swept a doubleheader Wednesday evening over Loveland at Mike Lansing Field. The Cutthroats erupted for 9 runs in the 6th to bounce the visitors 13-5.Nick Fisher drove in 3 runs for Casper. In the nightcap, Casper won 7-3 as the Cutthroats scored 3 runs in the first. Fisher drove in another 2 runs for the Cutthroats. Casper is 21-15 overall and will be at home tonight hosting Loveland.

The Colorado Rockies ended up losing 2 of 3 games against the Pittsburgh Pirates, after a 9-6 loss Wednesday night at Coors Field. Dexter Fowler and Carlos Gonzoles homered for the Rockies. The Pirates hit 4 home runs in the contest. The Rockies have today off before playing at San Diego starting Friday night.

The National Finals Rodeo continues in Rock Springs with 2nd round action under way. In the first go around, Kassidy Kruse of Gillette had the 2nd best time in the barrel racing. Teal Stoll of Pavillion was running 6th in the pole bending. Amber Robinson was 9th. On the boys side, Chett Whitman of Big Piney was 3rd in cutting and Garrett Ford of Gillette 9th in the bareback. The rodeo will conclude Saturday night.

The Wyoming Coaches Association all-star basketball game and volleyball match will be played this Saturday afternoon at Erickson Gym at Casper College. Golf is also part of the all-star week in Casper.
