MIAMI (AP) — The San Antonio Spurs kept pace with the Miami Heat for the first 32 minutes in Game 2 of the NBA Finals on Sunday night. The next 12 minutes allowed the Heat to even the series at a game apiece.

Miami trailed 62-61 late in the third quarter before a 33-5 run allowed the Heat to pull away in a 103-84 rout of the Spurs. The lead grew to 98-71 with 4:41 remaining, less than a minute after head coach Erik Spoelstra (SPOHL'-struh) pulled LeBron James, Dwyane (dwayn) Wade, Chris Bosh and Mario Chalmers off the court.

Chalmers had a team-high 19 points for the Heat, who drained 10 three-pointers and shot 49 percent from the field. James finished with 17 points, eight rebounds and seven assists after recording his 10th career postseason triple-double in Miami's Game-1 loss to the Spurs.

The Spurs had just three players score at least 10 points, led by Danny Green's 17. Tony Parker chipped in 13 points but shot just 5-for-14. Tim Duncan grabbed 11 rebounds but missed 10 of his 13 shots to finish with nine points.

The series shifts to San Antonio for Game 3 on Tuesday.

MIAMI (AP) — Jason Kidd is very interested in rejoining the Nets.

A person familiar with the situation says Kidd is interested in Brooklyn's head coaching position and plans to talk with the team this week. He led the Nets to consecutive NBA Finals in 2002-03 as a player and recently ended his 19-year playing career.

Spurs coach Gregg Popovich said he would be capable of handling the transition to coaching.
