Huskers Win, Cowboys Lose, NFL Starts [OPINION]

Say What?

What up people?  How ‘bout them Huskers, huh?  I heard Kirk Herbstreet say that the Huskers were going to have problems getting past SMU, but I don’t think 49 to 20 is having problems.  Yes Rex Burkhead, their starting running back had an injury, but it wasn’t season ending and they have a pretty good bench.  That was a fun way to start the season for sure!

The Pokes, not so well.  I don’t think 37 to 17 is so awful considering the quality of team that Texas puts out every year.  I’m glad Wyoming got that game out of the way early so we can focus on the next one!  That will be Toledo next week in Laramie.  First home game of the year, and I will be there cheering on the brown and gold!

On to the NFL.  First game up is Cowboys at Giants on Wednesday.  What can I say on this one?  I think that the Giants will win this.  I am not sold on the Cowboys, sorry mom.  Tony Romo and company just seem flat.  I’m going to predict the Giants over Cowboys 28-18.

The next game I want to talk about is Tampa Bay at Kansas City.  I am from eastern Nebraska where everyone is a Chiefs fan, so I am always surprised at how many Chiefs fans there are here in Casper.  My husband being one of them!  I actually think Kansas City will win this game.  I will take the Chiefs over the Bucs 18-10.

One of the late games on Sunday is the Niners at the Packers.  What can I say, I’m a Green Bay fan and think the green and gold will win.  My call is Green Bay 35-28.

And last but not least is the Sunday night game.  The much anticipated Peyton Manning and the Broncos go up against Big Ben and the Steelers in a classic AFC matchup.  I am excited to see Peyton get it done.  I think Denver will win this game 24-21.
