A cold front is expected to move quickly across Wyoming from north to south Thursday and Friday, likely making travel more difficult across northern, central and eastern parts of the state.

K2 Radio Meteorologist Don Day of DayWeather predicts moderate travel impacts on all three Wyoming interstates, with I-90 seeing the first effects before I-25 and I-80 are impacted Thursday night and Friday.

Day says icy and slick conditions are likely through Friday over the entire eastern side of Wyoming, from Sheridan, Casper and Laramie as well as points east of those cities.

During Thursday, areas of snow will develop along the Wyoming-Montana border including areas near I-90, Buffalo, Gillette, Sheridan , Sundance, Cody, Powell and Lovell.

Overnight Thursday, the cold front will move south quickly. Day expects snow to stretch into central Wyoming near Casper, the Shirley Basin, Douglas, Lusk and across the northern counties.

After midnight and through early Friday, a chance of snow will be present for the entire eastern side of Wyoming, as far west as Rawlins. Snow is expected to be heavier along I-25 and I-80 including the area of Douglas, Lusk, Laramie, Cheyenne, Pine Bluffs and Torrington.

Travel concerns along I-80 and I-25 in that area are expected through most of Friday, Day says.
