Is it even possible to name the best toppings for a hot dog? The possibilities are endless!

A couple of weeks ago I went to a baseball game and as much as I love baseball, I mostly went just because of the company and the dollar hot dogs. That's right, I'm a sucker for delicious, cheap food. That being said, I was loading up my hot dogs when I started to get heckled. This older gentleman was criticizing the face that I was putting ketchup and mustard on my dog. I didn't tell him that this dog was for a friend and that I planned to consume my dogs plain, but asked him what he preferred instead. He said with a smile... mayonnaise.

*bleck*

Of course everyone has their own opinion as to what is good on a hot dog. I didn't judge this man (openly), but it did get me thinking. Recently I found a list of the Best Regional Hot Dog Styles in America and I found that Colorado was featured on the list twice. In addition to hot dog fixins originating in Washington, California, and Montana, Thrillist heralded these dogs from our neighbors to the south.

Denver Dog: The Denver Dog is a beef dog with red onion, green chili sauce, sliced jalapenos and sour cream. It's typically served on a toasted bun. It's sounds luscious with a little spice cooled by the sour cream.

Rockie Dog: The Rockie Dog is a foot-long dog. On top you'll find grilled peppers, sauerkraut and onions. It sounds simple, but oh so filling.
