Jimmy Dales, Cowboys host Wyoming Classic

MARICOPA, Ariz., – The Pokes opened action at the annual Wyoming Cowboy Classic on Monday with two-rounds at Ak-Chin Southern Dunes in Maricopa, Ariz. The second round of the tournament was suspended in the final goings of the round due to lightning in the area.
Wyoming sits in 21st place after nearly 36 holes at seven over par.
Jimmy Dales leads the Pokes after the first day. He sits at tie in 34th place. He fired rounds of even-par 72 and is two-under in the second round. Davis Seybert led the Pokes in the opening round with a 71 (-1). He is three-over and is currently in a tie for 71st place.
Patrick Azevedo is currently in a tie for 87th place. He is two-over for the second round and shot a 74 (+2) in the first. Jaren Calkins rallied in the second round and is one-under par. He shot a 76 (+4) in the opening round.
Kristof Panke shot a 79 (+7) in the first round and is four-over in the second 18-holes. Evan Johnson shot a 78 (+6) for the first 18 and is six-over in round two.
The event is led by Grand Canyon at -27. UNLV is in second place at -20 with Southern California in third at -19. Three players are tied for first at nine-under par. Krando Nishiba of USC, Mark Stephens of UC Davis and Yuki Moriyama of UNLV.
The second round will continue Tuesday at 7:15 a.m. local time. The third round will follow the conclusion of round two.
