I love chatting with talented, creative, and inspirational people. Over the last few years, I've often had that chance with Casper-based children's author Casey Rislov. Our conversations are deep and cover many topics, but I always leave feeling inspired.

If you've ever spoken with her, you know what I'm talking about.

Her "Rowdy Randy" book series is a favorite among kids and parents throughout the West. It's fun to hear about her experiences, inspiration, journey, and accomplishments while hearing about her exciting future endeavors.

Our latest conversation was about the April 2025 release of her new book, "A Home For Steamboat."

Casey has again teamed up with illustrator Zachary Pullen to bring the story of Wyoming's legendary bucking horse, Steamboat, to the world.

Casey and Zak are an award-winning duo with the Rowdy Randy series and are excited to collaborate on the story behind the symbol representing the Wyoming way of life.

"A Home For Steamboat" is the legendary story of the horse known as an independent, strong-willed, bucking bronc whose silhouette would become the center-point of Wyoming's license plate, the logo for the University of Wyoming's sports teams, and the symbol seen all across the state of Wyoming.

T-shirts, hoodies, caps, flags, radio station logos, cups, coffee mugs, businesses, and more all use the legendary Wyoming logo to represent the Cowboy State.

The book will be released on tax day in 2025, and Rislov and Pullen will combine their artistic creativity to bring Steamboat's incredible story to life. Now is the perfect time to pre-order a copy for yourself, your kids, family, friends, neighbors, enemies, cousins in Europe, or whomever you feel will enjoy the story.

As I mentioned, Casey and I discussed the upcoming book, her inspiration, awards, and much more. You can listen to our conversation below.
