Clay Walker And Blackhawk Are Coming To Casper In 2027

Concerts in Casper have reached a new level, and there's another big show coming to the Ford Wyoming Center just after the New Year, and I'm stoked about this one.

If you grew up in the 90s, you probably have pretty strong feelings about that decade's country music artists, and you may sometimes say it's the best decade of country music in history. I've been a country fan my whole life, and I enjoy the country from the 2000s, 2010s, and 2020s, but there's just something about the country artists from the 90s.

My very first big country concert was in 1995 in St. Louis, Mo. It was Tim McGraw, Little Texas, and Blackhawk. It was a great show, and little did I know that two years later I would be just starting out in the radio business and getting a chance to meet one of the bands at that show.

In 1997, I was working a tour stop for Mark Chesnutt and met the opening acts backstage before the show. The opener was a young guy named Kenny Chesney; ever heard of him? The Middle act was one of my favorites, a group named Blackhawk.

When you meet bands you enjoy, you always hope they are as cool as you think they are, and sure enough, the guys in Blackhawk were. It was a great experience, and one I remember to this day.

Blackhawk's hits:

• Goodbye Says it All
• Every Once In A While
• I Sure Can Smell The Rain
• I'm Not Strong Enough To Say No
• Like There Ain't No Yesterday
• Postmarked Birmingham

Fast forward a few months, and I was working another concert for the radio station when, by chance, it was another country singer from Beaumont, TX, named Clay Walker.  It was just the year before this show that he announced his MS diagnosis, and since then, he's been a huge ambassador for MS and even started his own non-profit charity, Band Against MS.

Clay's hit list includes the songs:

• What's It To You
• Live Until I Die
• If I Could Make A Livin'
• Hypnotize the Moon
• Rumor Has It
• Then What
• Fore She Was Mama
• Fall
• She Won't Be Lonely Long

I hope you are pumped for this concert, because it's going to be a good one at the Ford Wyoming Center on January 23, 2027. You can get more details on the Ford Wyoming Center's website.
