Gillette is the site of the 2026 Wyoming American Legion Baseball Senior Legion Division I State Tournament. All games will be at Hladky Memorial Stadium from July 24 through July 28. It’s an eight-team, modified, double-elimination bracket. The Gillette Roughriders are the defending Double-A State Champions. They won the third title in program history at the top level in Wyoming last summer. The winner advances to the Region 7 or Pacific Northwest Regional Tournament in Medford, Oregon.

Friday, July 24:

Final Score: (S2) Casper Oilers 7 (N3) Powell Pioneers 4 - The Oilers used a 4-run 6th inning to rally for the victory. Powell held a 2-0 lead through the top of the 4th. Martinez had the go-ahead RBI double for Casper. Johnson followed with a 2-run triple. DePoorter had 3 hits & 1 RBI to lead the Oilers. Bieber had 2 hits & drove in 1 for Powell.

Final Score: (S1) Cheyenne Sixers 7 (N4) Sheridan Jets 3 - The Sixers took the lead with 4 runs in the 2nd inning on 3 walks, a hit batter, 1 hit, and 2 errors. The Jets fought back with 3 runs in the 3rd on an error and a 2-run single by Kintzi. Cheyenne answered with 2 in the bottom of the frame on sacrifice flies. Cotton had 1 hit & 2 RBIs for the Sixers. Kintzi led the Jets with his hit and 2 RBIs.

Final Score: (N1) Sheridan Troopers 2 (S4) Cheyenne Hawks 0 - Kula and Evans combined on a 3-hit shutout with 7 total Ks. The Troopers scored 1 in the 1st and 1 in the 2nd. Hamrick had a triple and scored on a ground out. Ormseth added an RBI single in the 2nd that scored Destefano, who had doubled.

Final Score: (S3) Laramie Rangers 9 (N2) Gillette Riders 2 - Laramie took the lead in the 3rd inning on an RBI groundout and a passed ball. They extended to a 4-1 lead, and the Rangers broke it open with 5 runs in the 6th. Gosar led Laramie with 3 hits (3B), 1 RBI, and scored 2 runs. Richardson added 2 RBIs. Dorrell struck out 10 and got the win after 4.1 innings pitched. Schilling led the Riders with 2 hits & 1 RBI.

Saturday, July 25:

Final Score: Powell Pioneers 10 Cheyenne Hawks 2 - Hawks are eliminated - The Pioneers broke it open with 7 runs in the 4th inning and then closed it out early. Nuss and Bieber led the Powell offense with 2 hits and 3 RBIs each. Bieber had 2 doubles, and Loera added a triple. Ostermiller allowed 2 runs on 5 hits with 6 Ks as the winning pitcher. Wenzel had 2 hits (2B) & 1 RBI for Cheyenne.

Final Score: Sheridan Jets 4 Gillette Riders 3 - Riders are eliminated - Sheridan scored 3 runs in the 6th inning to rally from a 2-1 deficit. Chance had an RBI double to tie it at 2-2. An error led to 2 more runs in the inning for the Jets. Schilling had an RBI single for the Riders that trimmed it to 4-3. With runners on 1st & 3rd and zero outs, Sheridan got a line-drive double play, and a popout to Martinson in right field ended the game. Chance had 2 hits & 1 RBI to pace Sheridan. Schilling had 2 hits & 2 RBIs for Gillette.

Final Score: Sheridan Troopers 14 Casper Oilers 8 - Casper had a 2-0 lead early. Then Sheridan exploded for 8 runs in the 3rd inning. That was highlighted by a 2-run Destefano triple and a 3-run double by Hamrick. The Oilers trimmed it to 8-7 after a 5-run 6th inning. Pownell had an RBI double, and Casper added an RBI single by Galles, a sac fly, and scored on a balk. The Troopers responded with 6 runs in the bottom of the inning to pull away. Hamrick had a 2-run double, and Blaine Phillips smacked a 3-run HR. Hamrick led Sheridan with 4 hits & 6 RBIs. J. Pexton led Casper with 3 hits, 1 RBI, and 1 run scored. Galles had 2 hits & drove in 2 runs.

Final Score: Cheyenne Sixers 12 Laramie Rangers 4 - The Rangers took a 2-0 lead on a sac fly and an RBI single by Harris. Cheyenne answered with 7 runs in the bottom of the 1st inning. K. Tafoya had a 2-run double, and Robbins followed with a 2-run triple later in the frame. Cheyenne added 2 more in the 3rd. Laramie cut it to 9-4 on a solo HR by Gill and a sac fly. The Sixers ended it with 2 in the 5th and another run in the 6th. Robbins led Cheyenne with 3 hits & 3 RBIs. McLean paced Laramie with 2 hits & 1 run scored.

Sunday, July 26:

Final Score: Sheridan Jets 5 Casper Oilers 4 - The Oilers are eliminated. Trailing 3-0, the Jets scored 5 runs in the 4th inning and made it stand up. Sheridan tied it on a sac fly. Kintzi, Hutton, and Baures had RBI singles that put the Jets in front 5-3. Casper scored one on a sac fly in the bottom of the 4th, but that's all they could get. Kintzi had 1 hit & 2 RBIs to lead Sheridan. Johnson led Casper with 2 hits & 2 RBIs. Martinez added 3 hits and scored 2 runs.

Final Score: Powell Pioneers 7 Laramie Rangers 1 - The Rangers are eliminated. Powell scored 2 in the 3rd, 2 in the 4th, and 3 more in the 5th to pull away. Loera had 2 hits and scored 2 runs to lead the Pioneers. Fauskee and Bieber added RBI doubles. Caden Diaz was the winning pitcher. He allowed 1 run on 6 hits with 11 strikeouts. Laramie out-hit Powell 7-to-5. Dorrell and Hardesty led the Rangers with 2 hits each. Dorrell scored the 1 run for Laramie

Final Score: Cheyenne Sixers 7 Sheridan Troopers 0 - The Sixers have qualified for the state championships game. Pearson tossed a no-hitter with 14 strikeouts! Cheyenne had a 1-0 lead after the first inning, but they took control with 5 runs in the 4th. Hauf had a 2-run single, Robbins an RBI groundout, King an RBI single, and a delayed steal of home. King added an RBI groundout in the 6th for the final run. King led the Sixers with 2 hits, 2 RBIs, and scored 1 run. Sheridan had 2 baserunners on a walk and an error.

Monday, July 27:

Final Score: Sheridan Jets 9 Sheridan Troopers 2 - The Troopers are eliminated. The Jets knock out their varsity counterparts. The Jets took a 2-0 lead in the 3rd inning on a 2-run double by Chance. The Troopers responded with a Hamrick RBI single in the same frame. The Troopers tied it in the 5th on an RBI groundout. The Jets pulled away with a 7-run 7th inning. That was highlighted by Gillis' 3-run double and a 2-run double from Baures.

Final Score: Cheyenne Sixers 10 Powell Pioneers 1 - The Sixers set the tone with 5 runs in the 1st inning. They added 3 in the 3rd and 2 more in the 4th. They closed it out after the top of the 5th. Broda led the Sixers with 2 hits & 3 RBIs. Maggard added 2 hits, 1 RBI, and scored 2 runs. Cassat was the winning pitcher. He allowed 1 run on 3 hits with 6 Ks and 3 walks. Fauskee had 1 hit & 1 RBI for Powell.

Tuesday, July 28:

Final Score: Cheyenne SixersSheridan Jets 1 - State Championship Game: The Sixers win their 6th title in the last 7 seasons. They scored 3 runs in the 2nd inning to take the lead after trailing 1-0. They added 2 more in the 3rd and 3 more runs in the 4th inning. Pearson had a 2-run triple, walked twice, and scored one run. K. Tafoya added 2 hits & scored 2 runs. Cotton had 2 RBIs. Hall was the winning pitcher. He allowed 1 run on 5 hits with 4 Ks and 3 walks. Hall threw 88 pitches.

State Tournament MVP = Braden Pearson, Cheyenne Sixers

Sportsmanship Award = Powell Pioneers

The Sixers advance to the Region 7 or Pacific Northwest Regional Tournament in Medford, Oregon.

The Sheridan Jets will be the Wyoming representative to the NWCART in Casper. They join the host Casper Wildcatters in the field.

 

The Wyoming state champion will advance to play Hawaii at the Region 7 or Pacific Northwest Regional Tournament. It is at Harry and David Field in Medford, OR, on August 5-9, 2026. The American Legion World Series is August 13-18 in Shelby, NC. The runner-up will advance to the Northwest Class A Regional Tournament (NWCART) at Mike Lansing Field in Casper, August 6-10, 2026. The only teams that cannot attend the NWCART are the Casper Oilers, Cheyenne Sixers, and Gillette Riders. The other five teams are eligible to claim that berth.

 

Wyoming Coaches Foundation All-Star Games 2026

The North played the South at the WCF All-Star Games in Casper on July 18, 2026.
