With school back in session in most areas of the state, the prep golf schedule in Wyoming slows down. Only four events are part of the Week 3 schedule. Three of them are two-day events. One is a one-day event. Gillette, Moorcroft, Rock Springs, and Worland are the sites to host this week.

WYOMING HIGH SCHOOL GOLF SCHEDULE WEEK 3 2024

Here is the schedule for Week 3 of the golf season. All schedules are subject to change. If you have an update, you can email david@wyopreps.com. The results will be posted below each event.

Thursday, Aug. 29:

Thunder Basin Invite – at Bell Knob G.C., at 9 a.m. – Campbell County, Cheyenne Central, Cheyenne East, Cheyenne South, Douglas, Kelly Walsh, Natrona County, Sheridan, Thunder Basin, Torrington.

Shelbi Gardner and Camryn Wagner of Sheridan are tied for the lead in the girls' division. Sheridan leads the girls' team race by 1 shot. KW's Isaac Schmidt leads by 1 shot in the boys' field. KW leads the team standings by 2 strokes.

Rock Springs Invite – at White Mountain G.C., 1 p.m. – Evanston, Green River, Jackson, Kemmerer, Laramie, Lyman, Pinedale, Rawlins, Rock Springs, Star Valley.

Worland Invite – at Green Hills G.C., 9 a.m. – Buffalo, Cody, Glenrock, Lander, Lovell, Riverton, Ten Sleep, Thermopolis, Wheatland, Worland.

Addison Bettinger of Buffalo and Haylie Nelson of Wheatland share the girls' clubhouse lead at 84. Tate Nichols from Wheatland shot 69 and leads by 6 in the boys' field. The Lander girls and Wheatland boys sit first in the team race.

Friday, Aug. 30:

Thunder Basin Invite – at Bell Knob G.C., at 8 a.m. – Campbell County, Cheyenne Central, Cheyenne East, Cheyenne South, Douglas, Kelly Walsh, Natrona County, Sheridan, Thunder Basin, Torrington.

Shelbi Gardner of Sheridan pulled away to win the girls' medalist honor by 8 strokes. Sheridan took the girls' team title by 3 shots. Isaac Schmidt of Kelly Walsh topped the boys' field. Campbell County earned the team crown.

Moorcroft Invite – at Keyhole C.C. in Pine Haven, WY at 9 a.m. – Big Horn, Hulett, Lusk, Moorcroft, Newcastle, Sundance, Tongue River, Upton, Wright.

Savanah Peterson of Sundance and Logan Timberman from Upton took first place in the girls' and boys' divisions, respectively. The Sundance girls and Wright boys placed 1st in the team standings.

Rock Springs Invite – at White Mountain G.C., 8 a.m. – Evanston, Green River, Jackson, Kemmerer, Laramie, Lyman, Pinedale, Rawlins, Rock Springs, Star Valley.

Maddi Brown of Evanston took the girls' division with a 1-shot win. Ryker Lind made it an Evanston sweep in the boys' division and won by 14 shots. The Jackson girls and Evanston boys took 1st in the team standings.

Worland Invite – at Green Hills G.C., 9 a.m. – Buffalo, Cody, Glenrock, Lander, Lovell, Riverton, Ten Sleep, Thermopolis, Wheatland, Worland.

Tylynn McDonald from Riverton and Tate Nichols of Wheatland were the medalists. The Lander girls and Wheatland boys took the team titles.
