Where To Find Wyoming’s Most Wanted
In the old days, wanted posters helped the public find the criminals among us.
What did in Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid, along with their gang, was have their picture taken in a group photo. Nobody knew what they looked like until then. Local police used that photo for wanted posters and had their faces plastered in local newspapers.
The FBI has a most wanted list. So do most Wyoming law enforcement agencies. But that is online. It's not like they post those photos around town anymore.
You can find a most wanted list from your local police or sheriff departments on their websites. Again, you won't find posters around town or around the state. You'll have to go online. That takes all the fun out of it, doesn't it?
Gone are the days of wanted posters. Today the faces of our most wanted are sent out over the internet. They will pop up in your feeds if you use social programs like Facebook.
To find wanted people in Wyoming, just look up your local police departments, including the county sheriff and state police. They all have websites and social media pages. They display who they are hunting for right there. You can see who they are looking for and why. In some cases, rewards are posted.
Those online wanted posters are not as fun to look at as the ones in the old days. But at least you'll know who the police are looking for in your community.
If the person who is wanted is wanted bad enough, then local law enforcement will notify the media for better coverage.
