Kaycee Qualifies for 1A State Tournament, Midwest Eliminated

The Kaycee boys and girls basketball teams will be in this year's 1A State Tournament after a solid run through the east regional in Douglas. The boys team finished first at the regional and started the tournament with a win over Guernsey 64-29 and followed that with a victory over Arvada-Clearmont 50-19 and ended the regional tournament with an impressive 55-25 win over Lingle. The Bucs are 21-3 on the year and will meet St. Stephens in the opening round of the state tournament on Thursday at the Casper Events Center at 1:30pm. The Kaycee girls took 3rd in the regional tournament after a win over Guernsey, a loss to Lingle, a win over Hanna and a victory over Arvada-Clearmont. The Lady Bucs are 12-12 on the year and will face Snake River at 4:30 at the Events Center.
The season came to an end for the Midwest boys on Saturday in that !A east regional in Douglas with a loss to Arvada-Cleamont on Saturday 63-54. The Oilers lost their first game of the tournament to Rock River 63-52 and then came back to beat Hulett 87-63. Midwest finishes the season at 13-10. It was a struggle for the Midwest girls all season and they went 2 and out at the regional tournament losing to Rock River and Hanna. The Lady Oilers wrapped up the season 1-18
