Last Weekend To See ‘All My Sons’ At Casper’s Stage III

Acclaimed playwright Arthur Miller's classic play "All My Sons" will have its last showings this weekend at Stage III Community Theatre in Casper.

The powerful play tells the story of a successful businessman who let his partner take the fall for selling defective airplane engines to the air force in WWII. Joe Keller's sins begin to catch up with him when his son and his partner’s daughter fall in love, the partner’s son comes home from the war, and his own older son does not.

"It all creates some tension, some conflict, there's some humor," said Director Marty Scott. "It's about the relationship between a father and the son who is still alive, the father and the son who is missing or dead, the father and the mother, all the conflicts, the tension about what did Joe really have something to do with these defects that came out of his plant, or was he truly innocent. All of that comes to a head."

"All My Sons", which opened on Broadway in 1947, won numerous awards including Tony awards for Best Author and Best Direction, and the New York Drama Critics Award. It was adapted for film in 1948, starring Edward G. Robinson and Burt Lancaster, and for television for a 1987 production of  "American Playhouse."

In Casper, the cast of  "All My Sons" includes Stage III veteran actors Dob and Teresa Wallace as Joe Keller and his wife Kate, Sterling Harvell as their son Chris, and Mary Gray as Chris’s girlfriend Ann.

The play finishes its run this weekend with performances on Friday the 29th and Saturday the 30th at 7:30 p.m. and Sunday the 31st at 2:00 p.m. at Stage III Community Theatre, 900 N. Center Street in Casper.

Tickets are $12.00 for adults and $10.00 for  seniors and students, and are available at the Cadillac Cowgirl, online at stageiiitheatre.org, and at the door.
