Say What?

What up people?  NBA finals – Way to go, LeBron – you finally got a ring!  I’m happy for the Heat.  They knew that they overstepped last year in all of their predictions and changed their tune this year.  Good for them.  I know, after watching LeBron over the last several years, he has indeed become a leader and seems to be very humble and committed to his team.  He finally made it count when the team needed it the most.  That was not the case prior to this year.  I was also very impressed with the maturity and sportsmanship that both teams showed in these games.  It is very satisfying as a fan, to see this behavior.

Moving on…I wasn’t really sure if I wanted to address the Sandusky trial or not, but it has been pressing on my mind ever since the beginning, so I’m going to get it off my chest.  So happy that the verdict turned out the way it did.  I knew when everything first started to come out in this ugly mess, this man got away with some pretty nasty things.

I have lived in a small town and can tell you, that especially when it comes to sports and the coaches, and anyone else in an authoritative position, it can be very intimidating to think that a person could go against the grain and be listened to.  It is very sad.  I truly hope that anyone involved in that whole mess at Penn State, who did not come forward with the truth those many years ago, will do a serious inventory on their moral conscience and re-evaluate what is right and what is wrong.

I don’t care who you are, or where you live, it could never, ever be okay to think that what this guy did was okay.  Just because those boys were at-risk and under his care, for the most part, doesn’t change a thing in regard to whether they had the right to be treated with respect, not abused.  Please, if anyone is reading this and knows of abuse happening, please report it to the authorities.  It is never okay under any circumstance.
