The Casper Natrona boys basketball team spilt their opening 4A West Conference games over the weekend,  both on the road. On Friday night the Mustangs came back to defeat Star Valley 56-49 in a game at Afton.

The Mustangs trailed the Braves 35-34 after three quarters, but would out score Star Valley 22-14 in the final eight minutes for the win. Kyle Vinich with 14 led the Mustang scorers. Andy Martin would add 13 for Natrona. Tyson Woodford led the Braves with 11 points. Josh Hunsacker and Clint Rich chipped in with 9 each for Star Valley. On Saturday afternoon the Evanston Red Devils would hold on to defeat Natrona 53-50. The Red Devils led 37-29 going into the fourth quarter. The Mustangs would outscore the Red Devils 21-16 in fourth but fall short by three at the end. Kyle Vinich would again lead the Mustangs in scoring column with 16. Cayl Carpenter and Cole Montgomery each had 8 points. Jeff Lee led all scorers with 24 for Evanston. Wacy Lynn with 14 points for the Red Devils. The Mustangs (8-4) overall and (1-1) in Conference play are back on the road this weekend. The Mustangs travel to Rock Springs Friday night. Game time is 7:45pm. That contest on AM 1400 ESPN with the pregame show at 7:30. Then on Saturday evening the Mustangs will be at Green River at 5:45 pm.
