NFL To Meet With Players Union – NFL Roundup

ORLANDO, Fla. (AP) — Commissioner Roger Goodell (guh-DEHL') says the NFL will meet on April 8 with the players union to discuss improving the workplace environment.

Goodell says league representatives have met with some 40 players in the last three months, as well as with the Dolphins and outside organizations in the wake of Miami's bullying tactics.

In other NFL news:

— The Browns have agreed to a contract with offensive lineman Paul McQuistan. The free agent is returning to Cleveland after starting 14 games last season for the Super Bowl champion Seahawks. McQuistan played with Cleveland in 2010.

— The Baltimore Ravens and New York Jets each will receive four compensatory picks in next month's draft for free agents they lost in 2013. The Ravens receive spots in the third, fourth and fifth rounds, with two choices in Round 4. The Jets will get a fourth-rounder and three sixth-rounders.

— A judge in Los Angeles has again refused to release former NFL All-Pro safety Darren Sharper from jail. Sharper is awaiting trial in Los Angeles after pleading not guilty to charges that he raped and drugged two women last year. He was previously released on $1 million bail before being charged in Arizona with similar counts.
