UNDATED (AP) — The Los Angeles Dodgers still own a 7 ½-game lead in the National League West after improving to 38-8 since June 22.

The Dodgers took advantage of three Mets miscues while scoring three times in the sixth inning to turn a 2-0 deficit into a 4-2 win over New York. Second baseman Daniel Murphy misplayed a couple of easy chances into singles before Adrian Gonzalez hit an RBI single. Mets center fielder Juan Ligares made a wild throw on Gonzalez's hit, allowing Mark Ellis to score and putting Gonzalez on third base. Gonzalez scored the tiebreaking run on Yasiel Puig's (YAH'-see-ul pweegz) sacrifice fly.

Ricky Nolasco allowed two runs and seven hits in 6 1/3 innings as the Dodgers improved to 4-0 on their homestand that followed a 7-1 road trip.

The Diamondbacks kept pace with the Dodgers by beating Baltimore 7-6 on Adam Eaton's first major league homer in the bottom of the ninth. Aaron Hill and Wil Nieves also went deep to help Arizona overcome Chris Davis' major league-leading 43rd round-tripper.

The loss drops the Orioles two games behind Oakland for the final AL wild-card berth.

The Detroit Tigers have dropped three of four since their 12-game winning streak.

Josh Phegley had two hits and two RBIs as the Chicago White Sox turned an early 2-0 deficit into a 6-2 win over the Tigers. Gordon Beckham had three hits and an RBI to back Chris Sale's nine-hitter.

Sale blanked Detroit over the last seven innings after surrendering Miguel Cabrera's 37th homer of the season. Cabrera has gone deep five times while collecting 11 RBIs in his last six games.

Kansas City took over second place in the AL Central and pulled within 6 ½ games of Detroit by downing Miami 6-2. Justin Maxwell and Alcides (al-SEE'-dehs) Escobar hit run-scoring triples, Billy Butler homered and Chris Getz went 3-for-4 with an RBI after coming off the disabled list earlier in the day. Winning pitcher Wade Davis allowed two runs in six innings to help the Royals improve to 19-5 since the All-Star break.

The Texas Rangers own an eight-game winning streak after Yu Darvish put together one of his best performances since coming over from Japan.

The Texas ace took a no-hit bid into the eighth inning and struck out a career-high 15 over eight frames in a 2-1 win at Houston. Darvish carried a perfect game into the sixth and was working on a no-hitter until Carlos Corporan homered with one out in the eighth for Houston's only hit.

Until the homer, Houston's lone runner came when rookie Jonathan Villar drew a two-out walk in the sixth. Texas catcher A.J. Pierzynski (peer-ZIN'-skee) was ejected for arguing with plate umpire Ron Kulpa on a breaking ball he called low one pitch before the walk.

Oakland remains a game behind the American League West-leading Rangers. Alberto Callaspo's (ky-AS'-pohz ) tiebreaking, two-run double sparked a four-run ninth inning and lifted the Athletics to a 5-1 win over Toronto. The A's have won two straight since dropping seven of nine to fall out of first place.

Elsewhere in the majors, Cole Hamels fired a six-hitter and Cody Asche (ASH'-ee) drilled a three-run homer as Philadelphia dealt the Braves just their second loss in 18 games, 5-0. The Phillies won for just the third time in 12 games and trimmed the Braves' huge lead in the NL East to 14 games over Washington.

Brandon Phillips hit a two-run homer and Mat Latos (LAY'-tohs) scattered six hits in eight shutout innings as Cincinnati nipped the Cubs 2-0 in Chicago. Losing pitcher Travis Wood was working on a three-hit shutout until Phillips went deep in the seventh inning.

Hiroki Kuroda worked eight shutout innings and Curtis Granderson hit a solo homer in the New York Yankees' 2-1 win over the Los Angeles Angels. David Robertson worked out of a bases-loaded jam in the ninth by striking out his final two hitters for his first save of the season.

Andrew Albers was terrific in Minnesota's 3-0 shutout of Cleveland, allowing just two hits and no walks in his first career shutout and second major league start. Albers has begun his big league career by giving up just six hits over 17 1/3 shutout innings. Brian Dozier and Trevor Ploufffe (ploof) homered as the Twins dealt the Indians their seventh loss in eight games.

Colorado crushed San Diego 14-2 as Dexter Fowler went 3-for-4 with four RBIs. Wilin Rosario had three RBIS, Nolan Arenado collected four hits and D.J. Lemahieu (leh-MAY'-hyoo) went 3-for-4 with a solo homer, two RBIs and three runs scored as part of the Rockies' 17-hit attack.

UNDATED (AP) — The Cincinnati Reds reinstated outfielder Ryan Ludwick from the 60-day disabled list before Monday's game against the Chicago Cubs. He played left field and went 0-for-3 in his first game since tearing cartilage in his right shoulder during the season opener.

The Reds made roster room by optioning outfielder Derrick Robinson to Triple-A Louisville.

Also in the majors, the Diamondbacks have placed outfielder Cody Ross on the 15-day disabled list, one day after he dislocated his right hip in a loss to the New York Mets. Arizona also optioned right-hander Zeke Spruill to Triple-A Reno and recalled pitchers Chaz Roe and Tyler Skaggs from the minors.

The Detroit Tigers have activated second baseman Omar Infante from the disabled list and optioned infielder Hernan Perez to Triple-A Toledo.

The Minnesota Twins have reinstated outfielder Wilkin Ramirez from the disabled list after missing 69 games with concussion problems.
