T-Bird Women Sweep, Men Spilt In Basketball Over The Weekend

The Casper College men's and women's basketball teams were in action over the weekend as they hosted Wyoming Junior College teams. On Friday night it was Western Wyoming of Rock Springs.

The T-Bird women won 87-78 outscoring Western 46-35 in the second. Lindsey Fearing led the T-Birds with 23 points, Rosalie Cutri with 17, Jasmine Belin with 12 and Marlianne Louzeiro with 10 points. In the men's game, Western Wyoming defeated the T-Birds, 83-68. Denzel Douglas off the bench led Casper with 17 while Brandon Walton and Ty Larson had 12 points. On Saturday night, A better night for the men with a 71-66 win over Central Wyoming of Riverton. Gilles Tacita had one of his better nights in a T-Bird uniform with 14 points and 4 assists. Cam Howard, Ty Larson and Brandon Walton chipped in with 10 points each. Both the men and women will play host to Western Nebraska Tuesday night in key Region IX games. The T-Bird men are 13-6 overall and 2-1 in sub-region play. The women are 12-7 overall and 3-0 in sub-region play. The women's game is at 5:30 and the men's game at 7:30 pm. Both games can be heard on AM 1400 ESPN.
