The Mystery of the Ever-Changing Speed Limits Between Casper and Mills
If you travel between Casper and Mills on a daily basis, maybe you don't even think about this. But, I must admit that I am constantly trying to figure out what the speed limit is between Casper and Mills.
It's no secret that I'm easily confused, so perhaps this is something only I will understand. But, I've counted 3 or 4 different speed limits from 1st Street in downtown Casper until you get into Mills proper.
The journey begins under the standard 30 mph Casper speed limit.
After crossing the North Platte on what is now highway 26, you are now in 40 mph land.
But, wait. Once you cross the intersection at N. Poplar, it's time to hit the accelerator cause it's 50 now.
Don't get to comfortable with that 50 mph speed limit because once 1st Street becomes Yellowstone, it's back to 40. Sigh.
Yes, this is a first world problem. But, could we just average it out and allow everyone to drive 37.5 mph through that area? I doubt this will be talked about at the next Casper city council meeting, so the mystery will continue.
