The Great Falls Voyagers not only shutout the Casper Ghosts but did so with a no-hitter. The Voyagers used three pitchers in the process of the 4-0 win.

Starter Scott Snodgrass worked six perfect innings to start things off , and then was helped out by two relievers. Great Falls got three of their runs in the seventh inning. Ghosts starter Jefri Hernandez had a solid out giving up three runs and four hits in seven innings of work. With the loss Casper lost a game in the South Division of the Pioneer League to Orem who salvaged a win with Missoula 5-4. The Owlz (11-7) lead the Ghosts(10-8) by a game. The Ghosts will host the Billings Mustangs starting tonight for a weekend series. The Mustangs are 10-8 in the North Division, one game back of Great Falls and Missoula.

The Colorado Rockies had Thursday night off and will be at Los Angeles tonight. The Rockies are 58-67 and currently 11 1/2-games back of Arizona in the NL West. The Dodgers are 56-67 and 12 1/2 games back of the Diamondbacks. Off the field, one of the Rockies Minor League players was suspended for 50 games for taking human growth hormone (HGH). Mike Jacobs was playing with the Rockies AAA team in Colorado Springs. Jacobs 30-years old had 30 home runs and drove in 97 runs for the Sky Sox this season.

The Wyoming Cowboys will have a regular practice on Saturday instead of a scrimmage in Laramie. The coaching staff figured that enough progress has been made to forego the final scrimmage of the fall. The Cowboys open up the season on Saturday Sept. 3 when they host Weber State.

And 4A high school football kicks off the season next Friday night Aug. 26th. The Prep Game of the Week will have Cheyenne East at Casper Kelly Walsh with kickoff at 7pm. With the commitment to the Casper Ghosts broadcast throughout the summer the football game will be on AM 1030 KTWO. That will also be the case  with the prep game on Friday night Sept. 2nd with Sheridan at Casper Natrona.
