The University of Wyoming has fired Head Men's Basketball Coach Heath Schroyer. Schroyer compiled a 49-68 record over his three and a half season as coach.

It was tough this year with a 1-8 record in the Mountain West Conference play and 8-15 overall. And last year the Pokes had just 10 wins overall. In addition to the lack of winning, lack of attendance figures into this decision, too. The last two home games with BYU and Colarado State  have drawn just over 5000 . But most of the home games this season have drawn smaller crowds. Schroyer's best season was 2008-09 when the Cowboys were 19-14. UW Athletic Director Tom Burman says Associate Head Coach Fred Langley will serve as interim head coach for the rest of the season. The university will hire a search firm to find a new coach.
