An apartment complex in Mills was completely engulfed in fire, requiring the use of special hoses and numerous trucks.

A K2 Radio News correspondent was on scene, capturing live video of the fire as it happened.

Casper Fire-EMS responders could not confirm or deny at the time if any occupants were in the building at the time of the fire, but did state that the building "was under construction."

"This is going to be a very large, dynamic incident that is going to take a long time to control," said Dane Anderson, the Casper Fire-EMS Public Information Officer, in a Facebook Live update. "Firefighters are using elevated master streams and utilizing large diameter hand lines and they're doing the best they can to apply as much water as quickly as possible to this fire."

Anderson stressed that this is still an active fire and he cautioned residents to avoid the area at all costs. The are in question is near Poison Spider Road and Yellowstone Highway.

"Avoid the area of Poison Spider," he said. "Try to keep Oregon Trail Road as clear as possible. Coleman Lane, behind there; keep it all clear. Roosevelt behind there, keep it all clear in all directions. Please do not drive your vehicles out there to get a better view of the fire."

Anderson stated that they currently do not know what caused the fire and will update the community as quickly as possible.

"Right now, it's gonna be a battle of water versus fire," he said. "That's what it boils down to. We appreciate all the support for firefighters that are out there right now. Please keep them in your thoughts as they are battling this fire tonight. They've assumed defensive positions and a perimeter around the structure right now."
