UNDATED (AP) — The Golden State Warriors have won their first playoff series since 2007.

Stephen (STEH'-fihn) Curry scored 22 points to go with eight assists, Andrew Bogut broke out with the best performance of his injury-plagued season and the Warriors eliminated the Denver Nuggets with a 92-88 victory in Game 6 last night.

Bogut had season-bests and career-playoff highs of 14 points and 21 rebounds. Rookie Draymond Green added a career-high 16 points and 10 rebounds to power Golden State into the second round.

The Warriors-Spurs series starts Monday in San Antonio.

In last night's other first-round playoff series between the Nets and Bulls, there is going to a seventh game Saturday in Brooklyn. The Nets staved off elimination by beating the Bulls 95-92 to even the series. Brooklyn is trying to become the first team since Phoenix in 2006 to win a series after trailing 3-1. Three players -- Deron (DEHR'-ihn) Williams, Joe Johnson and Brook Lopez -- led Brooklyn with 17 points apiece. Williams also dished out 11 assists.

UNDATED (AP) — Houston Rockets star James Harden has been diagnosed with strep throat but is still expected to play tonight in Game 6 against the Oklahoma City Thunder.

Harden had what the team called flu-like symptoms on Wednesday, but scored 31 points to lead the Rockets to a 107-100 win in Game 5. The team says Harden was treated by doctors for the condition Thursday afternoon.

Oklahoma City won the first three games of the series and still holds a 3-2 lead.

__Golden State coach Mark Jackson was fined $25,000 by the NBA for making public comments in an attempt to influence the officiating in the Warriors' playoff series with Denver. He accused the Nuggets of sending "hit men" at his star guard, Stephen (STEH'-fihn) Curry.

— New York Knicks coach Mike Woodson sure didn't like his players' decision to wear black to Game 5 of their playoff series against Boston on Wednesday night, which they expected to be the Celtics' "funeral." The Celtics responded with a 92-86 win in the close out game to force a game 6 back in Boston tonight.

— Facing an elimination game tonight, Atlanta coach Larry Drew figured his team needed a break. Saying he thinks the players are mentally and physically fatigued he gave them the day off yesterday. Atlanta was blown out by Indiana Wednesday night 106-83 putting them down 3-2 in the series.

— David Kahn is out as president of basketball operations for the Minnesota Timberwolves after four seasons and no playoff appearances. Former T-Wolves coach Flip Saunders is in line to replace Kahn in the front office.

— Phil Jackson has agreed to help the Detroit Pistons search for a head coach as an advisor. The Pistons fired Lawrence Frank after a 29-53 season and 54-94 mark in his two seasons.
