Baseball in Casper is back.

We're less than six weeks away from the first game ever played by the Casper HorseHeads. The HoreHeads will compete in the regional, Expedition League against teams from Hastings, Hub City, Pierre, Souris Valley, Spearfish, South Dakota Badlands, and Wetern Nebraska.

Games will be played at Mike Lansing Field, which once was the home ballpark to the Pioneer League Casper Ghosts/Rockies. That team departed in 2011 for Grand Junction, Colorado.

The HorseHeads begin play at home May 25th against Western Nebraska.

Last summer, with zero knowledge of this opportunity, we asked Wyoming residents if they'd like to see minor league baseball back in Casper. Over 86% of voters said yes. Of those yes votes, 53% said they'd like to see a team in Casper. Around 30% picked Cheyenne, and Laramie had  7%.
