UPDATE:

I-80 is now open across all of southern Wyoming.

============================================================

With vast stretches of Wyoming interstate highways still closed, Wyoming Department of Transportation crews are battling the elements as they work to get travelers back on the road.

According to WYDOT, crews have reported drifts as deep as 10 feet along sections of I-80 in the Laramie and Arlington areas. They're using rotary plows and other equipment to move that snow.

The department says high winds are expected to continue through much of Thursday, and snow will continue to blow.

Once visibility improves and crews clear road surfaces, highways should reopen across southeastern Wyoming, according to a statement from WYDOT. The department is also coordinating with Nebraska and Colorado on road openings.
