The halfway point of spring football practice has been reached at the University of Wyoming after a 2.5 hour session Thursday.

The Cowboys are now looking forward to their first major scrimmage action of the spring Saturday. It is closed to the public and media, and no statistics will be kept.

Wyoming head coach Craig Bohl called Thursday’s practice a spirited one. He spoke again about the scrimmage, the quarterback competition, junior fullback Austin Lopez and more.

After ending week three of spring drills Saturday, the Pokes will begin week four with practice No. 10 on Tuesday, April 10. UW’s spring allotment of practices will wrap-up with No. 15 on April 21 with their annual Spring Game from War Memorial Stadium.

Wyoming Athletics announced Friday that they will host another Alumni Flag Football Game prior to the Spring Game. It will begin at 11 a.m.

In addition, more interaction will be included in this year’s Spring Game, like a fan being selected to call a play during the action. There will also be live interviews, a select-a-seat promotion and more fans events will be announced at a later time.

Free parking and tailgating in the Ford Stadium lot is available, as are concessions and alcohol sales during the game.
