March Madness struck 1 month early in the big school coaches/media rankings, while things have stayed calm in the other classes.

Last week we said Friday was going to be a busy day in Class 4A, and things got turned inside-out. Rock Springs has climbed to the top as a result. Kelly Walsh only dropped to #2. The voters probably got on Gillette more than KW, because the Camels dropped a home game. That's why they are #4 and Sheridan is up to #3. Both the Broncs and Camels make the road trip to Cheyenne this weekend, to play East and Central. The question for Sheridan is, can they stay consistent? Which team will show up? The squad that won last week? Or the one that forgot to show up 2 weeks ago, when they got crushed home vs. the Thunderbirds. The #5 spot is shared this week, between Evanston and Cheyenne South. The Red Devils host the top ranked Tigers on Saturday, and would love nothing more to knock RS off of their 1-week stay at #1.

The latest 3A rankings got mixed up in the middle. It's still Riverton as the unanimous #1. After that, it's close between #2, #3 and #4. The voters put Douglas back up to #2, moved Worland up to #3, and dropped Torrington to #4 after last week's results. The big rematch is this Friday, when the TrailBlazers visit the Bearcats. Torrington won by 1 point, 2 weeks ago, and Douglas probably hasn't forgotten. Despite losing at home last week, Cody still retains the #5 ranking, and there are some teams chomping at the bit, waiting to bump them off and take their spot...notably unranked Lyman.

There's no change in latest 2A rankings, but the #5 spot is up for debate and is a big target. #1-#4 is still Pine Bluffs (unanimous), Wind River, Big Horn and Lovell. Wyoming Indian still occupies the final ranking, but Big Piney could easily stake a claim. The Punchers beat the Chiefs at Ethete 2 weeks ago, and the rematch is this Friday in the Punchers gym. BP also has a big game Saturday, hosting WR, but first things first.

A new team is in the 1A rankings at #5, and it couldn't have come at a better time. Meeteetse has been proving themselves as of late, and they get to entertain #1 Burlington on Friday. There's another matchup of top 5 teams, when #4 Lingle-Ft. Laramie visits #2 Kaycee. Elsewhere, #3 Little Snake River is continuing to take care of business in the southwest and should take advantage of the comforts of home, between now and the regional tournament.
