The new coaches/media rankings have some big changes from last week, and it's either because some teams weren't ready for conference play, illness, injuries, or a combination.

There weren't many changes in 4A, but that could change this weekend. The matchup that teams have been waiting for will finally happen, when #2 Cheyenne East visits #1 Gillette. Every voter gave the Lady Thunderbirds or the Lady Camels their #1 or #2 vote. Laramie stays put at #3 this week. Natrona is up to #4, while Rock Springs slips to #5. Unranked Evanston might feel a little slighted, because they beat RS at RS last week. If they can win this weekend at NC and make lightening strike twice, the Lady Red Devils might get the respect that they probably deserve.

The latest 3A rankings have some big changes after #1. Douglas is unanimous in that spot, and stayed undefeated with a 1-point win vs. 4A Green River earlier this week. Lyman is now up to #2, after their big OT win at Star Valley last week. Worland and Powell each move up 1 spot to #3 and #4 respectively as a result, and play each other Saturday in Park County. The Lady Braves drop from #2 to #5. Unranked Mountain View is probably asking why they didn't get ranked, after beating SV last week as well.

The top 2 teams in 2A have been consistent. Pine Bluffs remains the unanimous #1, while Wyoming Indian has a firm grasp at #2. The voters came down on former #3 Southeast, and kicked the Lady Cyclones out of the top 5, although to their defense, the flu was their enemy last week. As a result, Big Horn moves up to #3 and Lovell to #4. Rocky Mountain is now in at #5, and visits Lovell this weekend.

One week after losing their #1 ranking in 1A, St. Stephens has reclaimed the top spot. The Lady Eagles will get to work on their conference schedule this week. Farson-Eden is now up to #2 and leads the Southwest, after beating former #1, now #3 Little Snake River at home last weekend. Lingle-Ft. Laramie and Encampment hold steady at #4 and #5. The Lady Tigers visit LSR this weekend, while the Lady Doggers will have a challenge on their hands visiting 2A #1 Pine Bluffs.
