The Cheyenne Frontier Days Rodeo continues this week. Over the weekend, the first group of competitors gave it what they had and its been so far, so good for Mills native and former world champion bareback rider Kelly Timberman.Timberman had 2 qualified rides of 83 on Saturday and 78 on Sunday, for a total of 161 which should take Timberman into the finals on Sunday. Rock Springs native and current Cheyenne resident Seth Glause had a terrific Saturday. An 85 in the saddle bronc to the lead the first go round and an 83 in the bull riding to lead the first go round there. Unfortunately, he received a no score in both events Sunday and won't be back in the finals. The rodeo continues today at 1:00 pm in Cheyenne.

The Casper Cutthroats will be home tonight when they meet Loveland in a non Mountain Collegiate League game. The Cutthroats however sit in first place in the league and right now it looks like the Cutthroats will play Fort Collins in the playoffs later this week. Tonight's game is at 6:00pm at Mike Lansing Field.

The Colorado Rockies lost to San Diego Sunday afternoon 3-2 on the west coast. The Padres are playing well as of late, winning their last 7 of 9 games. The Rockies will be in Arizona starting tonight to play the Diamondbacks.

In Golf, Ernie Els was the surprise winner of the British Open at Lytham St. Annes with a final round 68 to finish 7 under par. Adam Scott had a 4 shot lead with 4 holes to play and fell apart down the stretch. Els wins his 4th major and his 2nd British Open title.
