It was a double whammy for the Casper College women's basketball team. they had a chance to clinch the Region IX championship on Saturday with a win over Gillette College on the road. The problem was that the Birds lost to Gillette on Saturday 65-51. Casper was 2-14 from 3 point land and turned the ball over 21 times. Ada Yelcin was the T-Birds leading scorer with 14 and Monika Rodamska added 11. On Sunday it was a coin flip to determine who would host the Region IX tournament considering that Casper and Gillette ended in a first place tie in the North Conference. Gillette won the coin toss and will host the tournament beginning next Monday. The Pronghorns are 20-10 overall and were led on Saturday by Mary Goulding with 23.
