Rockies And Cook Down Dodgers 3-1

Colorado  got a strong pitching performance  from Aaron Cook as the Rockies defeated the Los Angeles Dodgers 3-1 Wednesday night. Cook(2-5) who missed the first two months of the season with a broken finger threw seven innings of shutout baseball. The Rockies have today and continue their west coast road swing with a weekend series at San Diego Friday night.

The Casper Ghosts lost to Helena on Wednesday night 10-3 in Pioneer League action. The Ghosts who snapped a seven game losing streak Tuesday night struck out 13 times on Wednesday. The Ghosts, 10-26 have today off before beginning a weekend home series with Orem on Friday night. The first half of the season is completed after Saturday's game.

The Casper Oilers continue play in the State American Legion Baseball Tournament at Powers Field in Cheyenne. The Oilers lost to Wheatland Wednesday 5-2 and played Torrington this morning in loser-out action. If the the Oilers won, they would play Friday afternoon at 12:30 against the Cheyenne-Sheridan loser from tonight. The other loser-out game has Laramie and Douglas. In the winner's bracket games have Gillette and Wheatland at 4:00pm and Cheyenne and Sheridan at 7:00pm.
