5 Special Days Today that AREN’T Halloween

I realize that I'm in the minority, but I'm not a big fan of Halloween anymore. If by some crazy chance you're like me, here are 5 special days today that aren't Halloween.

Not trying to poo poo everyone else's fun today, but I've never been comfortable with the very real occult origins of Halloween. That inspired me to look for another reason to celebrate today. Here you go.

1. National Doorbell Day

This is a relatively new holiday according to National Day Calendar. They state this day only became official in 2017. It's great timing considering that this is the day when doorbells get a workout thanks to that better-known holiday I won't mention.

2. National Caramel Apple Day

Food is a favorite subject of mine so I was mighty happy to learn that October 31 is also National Caramel Apple Day. Foodimentary has more caramel apple facts than I can possibly include here.

3. National Knock-Knock Joke Day

Let's celebrate the corniest jokes in history today. You are welcome.

4. National Magic Day

Can't celebrate National Magic Day without paying tribute to my favorite magician of all-time, Harry Houdini. He died on this day in 1926, by the way. Creepy.

5. National Girl Scout Founder's Day

I will admit this is an obscure one, but I'll use it as an excuse to recommend my favorite Girl Scout cookie, the Do-Si-Do. If anyone else claims there's a better cookie, they're lying. This is the real deal.
