UNDATED (AP) — The San Jose Sharks and St. Louis Blues continue to sputter since getting off to great starts.

The Sharks suffered their fifth straight loss since a 7-0 start as Brandon Dubinsky had a goal and an assist to lift Columbus past San Jose 6-2. The Blue Jackets scored 43 seconds into the game, added two goals 1:11 apart in the second period and then scored three goals in the opening 5:45 of the final period. Vinny Prospal (PRAHS'-pul) and Mark Letestu (leh-TES'-too) tied a franchise record by scoring 8 seconds apart in the third period.

The Sharks entered the game with the league's best goals-against average, while the Jackets were next-to-last in goals per game.

The Blues also absorbed their fifth consecutive loss as Jeff Carter scored twice and backup Jonathan Bernier (BURN'-yay) made 21 saves in the Los Angeles Kings' 4-1 triumph at St. Louis. The Kings entered as the NHL's lowest-scoring team and matched their season best for goals.

The Blues are now a .500 team at 6-6 despite a 6-1 start.

Also on ice, Colton Orr and Matt Frattin (FRAT'-in) scored 28 seconds apart in the second period before Toronto completed a 5-2 win against Philadelphia. The Maple Leafs won for just the second time in six home games but finished without goaltender James Reimer (RY'-mur), who stopped 12 shots before leaving with an apparent left leg injury.

Jiri Tlusty (tuh-LOOS'-tee) scored twice during a four-goal third period that gave Carolina a 6-4 comeback win over the New York Islanders. The Hurricanes trailed three times before improving to 3-1-1 on their six-game road trip.

Minnesota pulled out a 2-1 win on shootout goals by Zach Parise (pah-REE'-say) and Mikko Koivu (MEE'-koh KOY'-voo). Kyle Brodziak scored the Wild's lone regular goal to support Niklas Backstrom's 23 saves.

Shane Doan's second goal of the night came at 4:01 of overtime to push Phoenix past the Avalanche 3-2 in Colorado. Mike Smith made 41 saves and was perfect after Mark Olver and Matt Duchene (doo-SHAYN') scored three minutes apart early in the second period.

MONTREAL (AP) — The NHL will not suspend Toronto Maple Leafs forward Mikhail Grabovski for allegedly biting an opposing player in Saturday's game against Montreal.

The league says there was no conclusive evidence that Grabovski bit Canadiens forward Max Pacioretty.

Pacioretty says he got a precautionary tetanus shot after the incident in Toronto's 6-0 victory.
