One man died Sunday after the motorcycle he was riding collided with a minivan on U.S. 20/26 west of Casper.

Two people in the white minivan were not injured, Trooper Gray of the Wyoming Highway Patrol told K2 Radio News at the scene. The man who died was wearing a helmet, Gray said.

The crash was reported to authorities at 12:50 p.m. just west of where U.S. 20/26 and the bypass intersect, near Power Service, Inc.

Gray did not know the deceased man's name. It was not clear whether the people involved are local.

The man who died was taken from the scene in an ambulance bound for Wyoming Medical Center. It was not clear at what point he passed away.

The circumstances and cause of the crash remain under investigation. Traffic in the area is being diverted while authorities investigate, so drivers will likely want to avoid the area for the time being.

The Wyoming Highway Patrol is the investigating law enforcement agency. Assisting are the Natrona County Sheriff's Office, Mills Police Department and Casper Police Department.
