UNDATED (AP) — In renewing one of the most storied rivalries in hockey, the Boston Bruins rallied with two goals in the final period to edge Montreal 2-1 at Bell Centre. In winning, the B's take over first place in the Eastern Conference about a fifth of the way through the NHL's abbreviated 48-game schedule this season.

The Bruins' Tyler Seguin (SAY'-gihn) tied the game with a goal just 14 seconds into the final period. Dave Krejci (KRAY'-chee) scored the game-winner less than two minutes later.

Goalie Tuuka Rask gave up a first-period goal to P.K. Subban but nothing afterward. He made 20 saves.

In the rest of the brief three-game NHL schedule:

— Viktor Fasth stopped 31 shots for his first NHL shutout and Francois Beauchemin (FRAHN'-swah BOH'-shee-mihn) scored in his 500th career game in the Anaheim Ducks' 3-0 win at Colorado.

— Dallas nipped Edmonton 3-2 in overtime. Jaromir Jagr (YAH'-roh-meer YAH'-gur) scored the game-winner. He has 17 career overtime goals, most in the NHL.

CALGARY, Alberta (AP) — The Calgary Flames signed goaltender Danny Taylor to a one-year contract a day after Miikka Kiprusoff (MEE'-kuh KIP'-ruh-sahf) had a lower-body injury in a 4-1 win over Detroit. Kiprusoff, who left Tuesday's game after the second period, is listed day to day.
