A man who previously admitted that he had sexually abused a child and photographed some of the abuse was sentenced to a lengthy prison term Friday morning in Natrona County District Court.

District Judge Catherine Wilking sentenced 37-year-old Stefan Wayne Voltaire to a term of 30-50 years in prison. In July, Voltaire pleaded guilty to three criminal charges: two counts of first-degree sexual abuse of a minor and one count of possession of child pornography.

"The crimes that were committed by you against this child, sir, are inexcusable; unconscionable," Wilking told Voltaire before pronouncing sentence. "You treated this child in the most horrific manner. She was merely an object to you; an object for your sexual gratification."

The victim, who was 10 years old when the crimes were committed, is on the autism spectrum, Wilking said. She said that she found the crimes "especially troubling."

During the July change-of-plea hearing, Voltaire admitted that penetrated the girl with his finger twice in June 2017 and photographed her.

A Casper police detective began investigating on March 1 after Voltaire's then-girlfriend found inappropriate pictures of the victim on Voltaire's computer.

In a police interview, Voltaire said that he had joined an "online erotic community" and participated in a "game" wherein the goal was to find incest pornography videos and create such videos for others to view.

"Your abuse is going to stay with her for the rest of her life," Wilking told Voltaire on Friday. "You pose a significant danger to our community. I think you pose a significant danger to any child that would be around you."
