The Casper Oilers American Legion baseball team started out the 2017 campaign with 2 losses to perennial power Cheyenne Post 6 over the weekend. The weather was miserable in Cheyenne but Post 6 earned a 9-1 win over the Oilers thanks to 6 runs in the first inning. Casper managed just 3 hits in the game and made 2 errors. The nightcap wasn't much better for the Oilers as they lost to Cheyenne 14-2. The Sixers put 9 runs on the board in the first inning to put the game away. Casper had just 4 hits in game 2 and made 4 errors. The Oilers are looking to rebound from a 19-46 season a year and will host Cheyenne on Saturday at Lansing Field with games against Cheyenne and Laramie on Sunday, also at Lansing.
