The Casper Oilers American Legion baseball team took 3 out of 5 in their own Mike Devereaux tournament over the weekend at Lansing Field. On Thursday, the Oilers dropped 2 games: an 11-10 decision to Monarch, Colorado and a 9-6 defeat to Laramie. Casper bounced back with a 6-5 win over the Billings Halos on Friday with Ben Garvin coming through with 2 hits and an RBI. The Oilers continued their winning ways with an 8-5 win over Gering, Nebraska on Saturday thanks to a 7 run 5th inning. Matt Maddox had 2 hits and a run scored for the Oilers in that contest. Casper saved the best for last on Sunday with a 13-0 win over Smoky Hill, Colorado as pitcher Keaton Westhoff tossed a no hitter, striking out 5 and walking 1. The Oilers are 17-41 on the year with games against Evanston and Jackson this week.
