
Casper Oilers Drill Douglas 19-0 Daily Sports Update
In American Legion Baseball from Thursday, the Casper Oilers drilled Douglas 19-0 at Mike Lansing Field. John Robinson drove in 4 runs and pitcher Alex Myer threw 6 shut out innings.
The Oilers will be in action Saturday afternoon at Lansing Field when they host Gering Nebraska in a doubleheader.
The Casper Cutthroats will be home tonight at Lansing Field when they host Laramie. First pitch will be at 6pm. The Cutthroats are 9-7 overall and perfect at home with a 7-0 record. The teams will also play Saturday night at Lansing Field.
In Major League Baseball, The Colorado Rockies had a rare win as they beat Philadelphia 4-1 Thursday. Former Casper players Chris Nelson and Wilin Rosario hit 2 home runs as Colorado snapped a 4 game losing streak but they have lost 12 of their last 14 games. The Rockies return to interleague play tonight starting a 3-game weekend series at Texas.
The Wyoming High School Rodeo Finals resume today in Douglas. The top 4 finishers in each event will advance to the National High School Finals Rodeo that will be held in Rock Springs next month.
The NBA season came to an end Thursday night as Miami defeated Oklahoma City 121-106 to win the finals 4-games to one. Miami's Lebron James was named the MVP of the finals as he threw in 26 points along with 11 rebounds and 13 assists. Mike Miller helped the Heat immensely with 23 points as he hit 7-3 pointers in the contest. Kevin Durant led Oklahoma City with 32 points.
