Casper PD Hosting Places of Worship Active Shooter/Critical Incident Training In April
The Casper Police Department will be offering another Places of Worship Active Shooter and Critical Incident Training on Monday, April 23rd, 2018.
The two-hour training is organized for those who work or volunteer in worship centers. The goal is to help places of worship enact security plans designed to minimize harm done in the event of an active shooter. The training is being taught by Lieutenant Dabney.
Lieutenant Dabney has taught numerous active shooter trainings to Casper area businesses and also taught a Places of Worship Active Shooter Training in February at Prince Of Peace Lutheran. The Casper Police Department wants to ensure church personnel and its members are prepared for a critical incident and how to react during a worship service.
Topics discussed in the training materials include:
- Conducting a Security Risk Assessment
- Suspicious Persons
- Actions during a Critical Incident
- What to do immediately after the Critical Incident
The training will be held at St. Mark's Episcopal Church, on Monday April 23rd, 2018 from 3:00 pm - 5:00 pm.
*The training is free.*
