Cheyenne Post 6 captured another Wyoming American Legion Class AA Baseball championship on Saturday defeating the Casper Oilers 14-6. It was Cheyenne's 11th title in the past 12 years.

Post 6 (40-32) will begin regional play on Thursday when they play the Washington state champion in Billings, Montana.

In the Class A championship, Wheatland successfully defended their title beating Sheridan 9.4 Saturday. They will head to their regional tournament in Burley, Idaho starting on Friday night.

Class 4A football kicks off another season today with practices throughout the state. Natrona had their midnight practice  and Kelly Walsh got under way this morning.The 4A schools will play their opening games on August 24th. Both Casper schools will be on the road the first two weeks of the season. On the 24th, Natrona will be at Cheyenne South in the AM 1400 ESPN Game of the Week. Kelly Walsh will be cross town at Cheyenne East.

Tim Lincecum won consecutive starts for the first time since April, Hunter Pence had three RBI's and the San Francisco Giants beat the Colorado Rockies 8-3 Sunday at Coors Field to swep the three-game series. Lincecum (6-11) worked around five walks, allowing one run and five hits in six innings. The Rockies are at Los Angeles to start a series tonight.

World record holder Usain Bolt captured his second straight gold medal in the 100-meters blazing to an Olympic record time of 9.63 seconds. Bolt edged out fellow Jamaican Yohan Blake who settled for the silver medal. The bronze medal went to 2004 Olympic champ Justin Gatlin of the U.S.
