Cowgirl Volleyball Keeps Rolling With Sweep of Aztecs
For the first time in 17 years, the Wyoming Cowgirls have started conference play at 3-0 on the volleyball court.
No. 25 Wyoming (13-2, 3-0) swept the San Diego State Aztecs in three sets Thursday night in California. The last time UW began the conference slate 3-0 was in 1998, which was before the Mountain West existed.
Scores of Thursday night's match were 25-22, 25-19 and 25-18. It also marked UW's seventh straight victory.
Junior Kayla Slofkiss led the Cowgirls with a double-double. She had 12 kills and 12 digs, plus added a season-high .480 hitting percentage. Laura Beach added nine kills, while Kayla Henderson contributed eight kills.
Wyoming returns to the court Saturday at Nevada. The match will start at 1 p.m., Mountain Time.
