The Wyoming Cowgirls will open play in the WNIT tonight when they host Northern Colorado at the AA in Laramie. The Cowgirls are 24-7 and Northern Colorado is 20-12. UNC features former Casper Natrona standout Stephanie Lee. Chaundra Sewell leads UW in scoring and rebounding averaging 14 points and 9 rebounds per game. Sewell was named first team All-Mountain West Conference and a regional All-American. Tonight's game is at 7:00pm and on AM 1030 KTWO.

The Wyoming Cowboys are in the second round of the College Basketball Invitational Tournament and will face Western Michigan on Monday night at the AA in Laramie. Western Michigan defeated North Dakota State Wednesday night 72-71 in overtime.

The men's NCAA basketball tournament gets underway today with 16 games. Three Mountain West Conference teams will be in action tonight. UNLV will take on Cal at 7:20pm, New Mexico meets Harvard at 8:00 and Colorado State plays Missouri at 7:45.

One Mountain West Conference team will not advance in the tournament. Boise State lost to LaSalle in a play-in game 80-71 Wednesday night. The other play-in game played in Dayton as James Madison beat Long Island 68-55, thanks to 20 points from former Wyoming player A.J. Davis.

The NCAA Wrestling Tournament is under way in Des Moines, Iowa. The Wyoming Cowboys have 7 wrestlers in the tournament, the most they've qualified since 1989. Two wrestlers are seeded, Alfonso Hernandez at 197 is seeded 4th and is 31-1 this season. Tyler Cox at 125 is seeded 12th with a record of 31-8. The other 5 Cowboy wrestlers are McCade Ford at 141, Brandon Richardson at 149, Andy McCulley at 157, L.J. Helbig at 174 and Shane Woods at 184. The tournament runs through Saturday.
