It took extra innings but the Ogden Raptors halted the Casper Ghosts win streak at five Thursday night with a 4-3, 10-inning victory, before 1,079 fans at Lansing Field Noel Cuevas hit an RBI single in the top of the tenth to give the Raptors their first win in the second half of the season.

Both teams managed just four hits on the night. The Ghosts scored one run each in the first and second innings. Casper scored their final run in the sixth. Julian Yan went 1 for 4 with a home run. The Ghosts with another quality start as Ben Hughes went five innings giving up two runs and striking out five. Casper is 4-1 in the second half and a one game lead over Orem in the South Division of the Pioneer League. The two teams will play tonight at 7:05pm on AM 1400 ESPN.

The Colorado Rockies snapped their four game losing skid with a 6-3 win over the Washington Nationals Thursday night at Coors Field. Troy Tulowitzki had three hits including his 21st homer of the season. Esmail Rogers, former Casper pitcher worked into the sixth inning giving up one run and seven hits. Game two of the four game series is tonight in Denver.

The Wyoming Cowboy football team went through their first practice of the season Thursday afternoon. The Cowboys will open up the season on Sept. 3rd. in Laramie when they host Weber State. Off the field, the University has hired former Cowboy Quarterback Randy Welniak as their chief fundraiser for athletics. Welniak was working at a bank in Laramie after previous stints at Wyoming, Fresno State and Illinois State. He replaced Josh Rebholz who took a similar position at UCLA.
